Research Clusters
Centre for Gender History
Established in 2008, The Centre for Gender History brings together staff and students from History and Economic & Social History, as well as cognate areas within the University of Glasgow and partners in other institutions. The Centre sponsors a regular seminar series on gender history and supports a vibrant research community of masters and doctoral students, who organise the Hufton Postgraduate Reading Group.
Gender Based Violence Research Forum
The forum is a network for staff and postgraduate students across the University to share information, develop research ideas, and receive support in relation to gender-based violence research. The Forum’s activities include:
- Sharing information, knowledge and opportunities in relation to GBV work (e.g. policy developments, conference, funding opportunities) amongst members
- Organising GBV related seminars (with internal and external speakers)
- Producing the Scottish GBV Research Resource List (annually)
- Providing emotional and practical support for members around GBV research
- Collating information about UofG staff and students with GBV research expertise and publications via the GBVRF webpage.
Women in Law
The Women in Law Project’s mission is to research the past, document the present, and advocate for the future of women in law in Scotland and across the world. Our vision is that women from all backgrounds have equal representation across every level of the legal sector in Scotland and globally. Our approach to changing the profession for women is grounded in academia and robust research but open to embracing new innovative and creative ways to advocate for female representation.
