Moving SDG5 forward: women’s public engagement activities in higher education

Universities are critical drivers of the Sustainable Development Goals. They produce knowledge to support innovative solutions to global challenges. However, the work of female academics in this area is often overlooked or hindered by gender inequalities in the workplace. This journal article on women’s role in Higher Education Institutions in Iran and the Philippines sheds light on the many barriers that persist and limit women’s contribution to the SDG framework. The research also identifies policies and practices that can support women to advance in their academic and external engagement work.
