This event was organised by the Low and Middle Income Countries Research Network, the Glasgow Centre for International Development and the Sustainability Interdisciplinary Research Theme (College of Social Sciences).
Research & Policy Partnerships for Global Development: Why it matters, how it works and what to do

Global sustainable development requires robust evidence to inform policies and practices and effect long term change. This webinar will promote a discussion on the enablers of and barriers to collaboration between researchers and policy actors. We have invited a select group of organisations including international NGOs, multilateral institutions, and government agencies. This will be the first of a series of events aiming to support future collaborations to engender better knowledge translation and evidence-informed policy-making. The event will also provide an opportunity to showcase your research and build new connections.

Panel Discussion: 'Housing for all During COVID-19 and Beyond
This event took place on Wednesday 28 October 2020
The right to housing is a fundamental human right. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the pre-existing and long-standing housing inequality crisis in cities. Approximately 1.8 billion people live in precarious housing conditions.
Overcrowded accommodation, lack of proper sanitation and safe water supply leave communities fatally exposed to infection. Long term approaches to housing that address inequalities are crucial to promote post-disaster recovery and protect vulnerable communities from extreme events in the future.
This panel discussion brought together University of Glasgow researchers, project partners and policymakers to discuss sustainable housing policy responses.
