Activity in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence spans the breadth of the College of Science and Engineering. Our researchers are using GPS data to generate 3D city maps, harnessing the power of digital twins across renewable energy generation and distribution, and underpinning new disciplines such as digital chemistry.

It is not a stretch to claim that data underpins all our research in the College, from fundamental particle physics research, to supporting our activities across environmental and sustainable solutions. AI has become commonplace across all aspects of society and our researchers are leading the way to champion responsible AI and it's positive impact on our lives.

The University’s Centre for Data Science & AI is integrated within the College, and its inaugural Director, Professor Ana Basiri, sits within the School of Geographical and Earth Sciences.
