Craig Anderson - Senior Lecturer in Statistics School of Mathematics and Statistics
Dr Craig Anderson is a Senior Lecturer in Statistics at the School of Mathematics and Statistics. Craig works on research topics relating to environmental monitoring and understanding health inequalities, both topics where the economic, social and health impacts fall disproportionately on underrepresented groups and communities. Craig is particularly interested in widening participation and has been involved in a number of school events around Glasgow and beyond with the aim of promoting statistics and more generally STEM as a subject which is open to all.
Craig has recently formed a new EDI committee within the school, with the short-term aim of increasing the visibility of the EDI activity already going on within the school and promoting events being held within the school and the wider university. The committee are also very interested in understanding the student perception of EDI within the school and will include both PGR and UG representatives on the committee from the next academic year onwards, as well as organising a student survey and focus group.
