What is Let’s Talk About...?
Welcome supervisors!
Let’s Talk About... is a card game developed by academics focused on equality, diversity and inclusion within research environments. The game uses prompt cards to facilitate open conversations between research leaders and their students, fostering inclusion, innovation, honesty and openness.
Why use Let’s Talk About... as a Supervisor?
As a supervisor, effective communication with your students is crucial for fostering a supportive and productive research environment. Let’s Talk About... helps you set clear expectations, understand your students' needs, and improve the overall working relationship. How to play Let’s Talk About...?
The deck is divided into five suits: Information & Values, Expectations, Career, Social, and Wildcard. Each suit is designed to address different aspects of the supervisor-student relationship. Game play is really simple - in short:
- Sit down somewhere comfortable
- Get your cards ready:
- Shuffle the deck or
- Open the Sway link
- Select a card
- Get chatting!
