Readmission Policy

If you have been away from studies at the University and you wish to be readmitted to the College of Arts & Humanities degree programmes then you must complete the Readmission form via the UoG help desk

Withdrawal from studies on Medical grounds

Any student who previously withdrew on grounds of ill health should include in their application:

  • A clear and detailed account of the issues that prevented completion of the original planned year of study
  • Supporting evidence, as complete as possible, of how those issues have been addressed and resolved, what supports are in place to ensure the student is fit and ready to return and successfully re-engage with studies
  • This will normally include evidence from an appropriate medical professional.

Medical evidence should be dated no earlier than one month before the application deadline, to ensure that it is current and relevant at that time.

Withdrawal from studies for any other reason

Any student who withdrew for other reasons (personal circumstances, etc), should include in their application:

  • A clear and detailed account of the issues that prevented completion of the original planned year of study
  • A clear and detailed account on how thier circumstances now allow them to return successfully to study
  • Where relevant, provide any supporting evidence.

All readmission requests will be reviewed by the Readmission & Transfer Committee. Readmission requests may be referred to the Progress Committee for decision.

If a student requires a repeat year of study as part of their readmission, then the normal policy regarding repeat years is applied.
