Arts & Humanities Mobility Scholarship

This funding opportunity is available to Undergraduate or Postgraduate students in the College of Arts & Humanities to support study or research projects and activities with costs such as travel, archive costs, tickets for museums or similar venues, language courses, conference fees, short-term summer courses, etc.

Applications must be submitted by 12pm (noon) on Wednesday 23 April 2025.

The scholarship is designed to contribute towards the costs of the activity and will not cover all expenses incurred.

As an applicant, you must demonstrate how you will use the funds to implement your project and how your project will help your study and / or personal and professional development.

Students may apply for up to £500. Please make sure you cost your project accordingly.

Eligibility

  • You must be a fully registered undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate taught (PGT) student in a programme at the College of Arts & Humanities.
  • Your proposed activity must be completed before your graduation.
  • The proposed activity can be UK-based or international but must include a clear mobility element. Virtual activities (online courses, etc.) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • You must not be in receipt of other UofG funding for your specific proposed project already. For example, Go Abroad for Summer scholarships or tuition fee waivers, Turing Scheme Short-Term Mobility funding, etc.
  • Students who have not previously received an Arts & Humanities Mobility Scholarship will be prioritised.
  • If you require financial aid to travel from and to university, you should not apply for this fund. You are advised to look at other financial aid options.

This fund is not for Study Abroad undertaken during the Junior Honours Year. Information on how to apply for financial assistance for Study Abroad is managed by goabroad@glasgow.ac.uk and is also available on Moodle.

If you are a student studying abroad for a semester/full academic year through the University's Go Abroad programme, you may still apply, if you have a proposal for an additional project while you are abroad (e.g. language lessons, field study etc).
