Working with School Teachers to Create Impact - Introduction

Description: This workshop, led by Dauvit Broun and Joanna Tucker, introduces an ArtsLab scheme with Education Scotland which has 12 projects completed since it was begun in 2014. The scheme has been developed to fit with new ideas about 4* impact. Come and find out about the scheme, and whether you would like to get involved.

Balancing Researching and Teaching: A Guide for Lecturers

Description: Workshop by Dr Karin Bowie, Deputy Dean of Learning & Teaching. This session is aimed at Grade 7 and 8 Lecturers on the R&T or TLS track. With the promotion criteria for Grade 8 and 9 in mind, we will discuss how to think strategically about teaching and leadership in teaching, how to generate evidence for your promotion application, and how to balance these activities with your research.
Unlocking the Potential for Impact from your Research

Description: Workshop by Dr Fraser Rowan, College Knowledge Exchange & Impact Manager. All research can have impact. Let’s not confuse that with ‘All research can (should) be a REF impact case study’. Key to driving impact is understanding the potential of your research and knowing who might reap benefit from your research. Attending this workshop will assist you to better understand the role of the stakeholder (non-academic partner) in the delivery of impact and the communities of interest that your research might affect.

Staff Profiles: Thinking about our Online Presence and How to Improve It

Description: Your University Staff Profile will almost certainly be the first thing people find when they search for you on the web. Is your profile up to date and does it give the right impression about you, your work and your interests? Finding time to update your profile can be difficult; this session will give you the opportunity to get away from your desk and focus on improving your staff profile with hands-on support to help you edit and upload using T4. The workshop will start with a very short presentation looking at some good examples of staff profiles and then move into an instructor-led session on using T4 to make changes to your Profile, with hands-on support.

Description: Workshop on a major source of funding led by Dauvit Broun and Faye Hammill, and including John Reuben Davies, Zoe Strachan, Mia Perry (School of Education) and Mary Ryan (GU International Committee). If you have attended the workshop on 'Developing international networks' on 1 November then this is a good follow-up on how to put that into action for funding. (You do not need to have attended ‘Developing international networks’ in order to benefit from this one on GCRF.)
