College of Arts and Humanities International Summer Opportunities
Throughout your degree at Glasgow, as a College of Arts & Humanities student, you can participate in a variety of international opportunities over the summer.
Whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student, our various short-term opportunities are designed to complement your academic journey and will help you gain valuable experience during your studies.
Short-term international mobilities are a great way to:
- Build self-awareness, interpersonal skills, team working, flexibility and adaptability
- Enhance cultural awareness and intercultural communication skills
- Enhance practical work skills relevant for their field
- Increase sector knowledge
- Reflect on potential dissertation topics

What opportunities are available to you?
- CoAH International Internships
The College of Arts International Internship programme is open to current University of Glasgow Honours and Postgraduate students. This year, students can apply for a summer internship at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston in Texas, USA, or the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, USA.
- UofGGamesLab Project Glide
This opportunity will support 6-8 University of Glasgow undergraduate students to participate in a 2 to 4-week in-person exchange to either Regensburg, Germany OR Lausanne, Switzerland in May-June 2025.
- Centre for Art and Languages - EHESS, Paris Mobility
This is a one-week mobility opportunity for PGT students in the College of Arts & Humanities to spend a week at the Centre de Recherches sur les Arts et le Langage - Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, France.
Students will have the possibility to attend one or more lectures by members of the CRAL and to exchange with PG students from the hosting institution.

CoAH International Internships Programme Summer 2025
The College of Arts International Internship programme is open to current University of Glasgow Honours and Postgraduate students.
College of Arts and Humanities students can apply for an internship at one of the following institutions:
- Museum of Fine Arts Houston - Texas, USA
- Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, Smithsonian Institute - Washington DC, USA
We especially encourage students with backgrounds in Art History, Museum or Conservation Studies, Information Studies, Archaeology, Creative Industries and Cultural Policy to apply, but welcome interest from anyone within the College.
If you're not sure if your background would be a good fit, please don't hesitate to reach out to the CoAH International team for more information.
Internship projects at host organisations are usually tailor-made depending on the needs of the organisation, as well as the student's interests and course requirements. For example, interns may focus on curatorial training and project-related research, education, outreach, or digital applications.
This is a great opportunity for students to experience working with cultural institutions abroad and apply knowledge gained at UofG, to widen their personal and professional horizons, to develop professional experience, and to engage in CV building activities.
Internships are between 4-8 weeks depending on which partner institution you are interested in and are non-credit bearing. More details are available in the Application Forms below.
Eligibility Criteria
Please note that International Internships are only available to current University of Glasgow Honours and Postgraduate students in the College of Arts & Humanities. You will not be able to take up this internship after you have completed your degree at Glasgow.

UofG Games Lab Project Glide Mobility Opportunity
Applications are now open for Project GLIDE! ("Game Learning Internationalisation Development Exchange") from UofGGamesLab and the College of Arts & Humanities.
This opportunity will support 6-8 Glasgow University undergraduate students to participate in a 2 to 4-week in-person exchange to either Regensburg, Germany OR Lausanne, Switzerland (3-4 students going to each), in May-June 2025.
Eligibility
The UofGGamesLab has staff and students from across different disciplines. For this scheme, applications are welcome from 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate students at the University of Glasgow from all backgrounds. Undergraduate students completing a five-year language degree who are currently in their 4th year are also eligible to apply.
Please note that final year undergraduate students are not eligible to apply.
The focus will be game-based learning and research, including learning skills around how to develop research-led games. However, prior experience in gaming (whether physical board/card/wargame/roleplay games or video/mobile games) is not required.
The exchange will involve a combination of activity by the host institution and self-directed activity, whether as individuals or as a small group of students from the University of Glasgow.

Mobility Opportunity at Centre for Art and Languages - EHESS in Paris
This opportunity is for a one-week mobility exchange at the Centre de Recherches sur les Arts et le Langage - École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, in Paris, France.
Mobility dates: 19-24 May 2025
The one-week mobility exchange is open to current University of Glasgow students enrolled in a Post Graduate Taught Programme Degree.
We especially encourage students registered in PGT programmes in Music, History of Art, Theatre Studies, Film and Television Studies, Literature, Modern Languages, Museum Studies, Creative Industries and Cultural Policy to apply. We welcome interest from anyone within the College of Arts and Humanities, but priority will be given to applications from the School of Culture and Creative Arts.
This exchange offers a valuable chance for students wanting to expand their international opportunities. The planned activities will include:
- Meeting with PG students from the host institution to discuss their research projects
- Attending one or more seminars (to be convened with the SCCA Staff) by members of the CRAL
- A class on resources on Digital Humanities from both members of the CRAL and the SCCA.
Additional activities might include:
- Visit to the Bibliotheque National de France and Archives Nationales
- Visit to the Musee d'Art Moderne de Paris, the Petit Palais, the Musee Carnavalet
- Attending a musical performance
This exchange is a great opportunity for PGT students at UofG to enhance their cultural awareness and intercultural communication skills, reflect on potential dissertation topics, and build an international network.
Students will be accompanied by two members of Staff from the School of Culture and Creative Arts, Prof. Eva Moreda Rodriguez (Eva.MoredaRodriguez@glasgow.ac.uk) and Dr. Vera Wolkowicz (Vera.Wolkowicz@glasgow.ac.uk).
Eligibility
Please note that this exchange is only available to students enrolled in a Post Graduate Taught degree programme. We encourage applications from students who have not held any previous mobility schemes or who meet one or more of the University's criteria for widening participation.
No previous knowledge of French is required but students with an interest in French language and/or culture might benefit from this experience.

Centre de Recherches sur les Arts et le Langage One Week Mobility Application
You will need to complete the following:
- UG degree with degree classification or GPA.
- A 300-word personal statement describing your purpose to do this exchange and your international experience.
- A short note from your supervisor or programme convenor confirming that they are happy for you to take part in the programme.
Please keep in mind that successful applicants may need to apply for a visa and will need an up-to-date passport before travelling. We would encourage you to review the information available from the relevant visa-issuing authorities prior to submitting your application.
Results will be communicated to students by the end of February 2025.
Funding
Successful students will be in receipt of funding via the UofG Global Opportunities team. Please note that funding is intended as a contribution to costs and may not cover all of your expenses for your time abroad.
Non-WP students will receive £119. WP students will receive £147 and will also be awarded an additional £250 travel grant. Students are expected to make their own travel arrangements, and funding will only be reimbursed after the exchange.
We also encourage students to apply to other schemes/sources of funding to support this exchange.
