The University of Glasgow’s College of Arts & Humanities has been selected as one of 50 UK higher education institutions to receive the Arts and Humanities Research Council's (AHRC) new Doctoral Landscape Awards.
This funding recognises the College’s excellence in arts and humanities research and will support doctoral training over the next five years, starting in 2026.
Professor Jo Gill, Vice Principal and Head of the College of Arts & Humanities said: “The College of Arts & Humanities welcomes confirmation of our Doctoral Landscape Award; the new scheme will enable us to build on the 10-year success of the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (SGSAH), which we have been proud to host at the University of Glasgow.
"The College looks forward to continuing to offer a rich and supportive experience to doctoral students across a range of Arts & Humanities disciplines under the new Landscape Awards scheme. “
The AHRC says that this new approach will provide flexibility for providers while ensuring high-quality research training environments for students.
Universities selected for these landscape awards will also participate in regional 'hubs' to facilitate collaboration and create new opportunities for research career development. The funding will be reviewed every five years, allowing for adaptability to changing institutional strengths and priorities.
