About the Student
Keni Li is pursuing her Ph.D. studies at the University of Glasgow, having previously earned two master’s degrees in Modern and Contemporary Art: History, Curating and Critism and Comparative Literature and World Literature in the University of Edinburgh and East China Normal University respectively. Her Ph.D. project revolves around the intersection of photography, literature, and memory writing. Through the examination of novels, photographs, and relevant archives, the aim is to delve into the intricate cultural discourse systems, encompassing politics, emotions, power dynamics, cultural identities, and reification, that underlie these text-image narrations.
She plans to launch online exhibitions to present the research results. With experience in various art institutions, including the Greek Feminist Autonomous Center, Talbot Rice Gallery in Edinburgh, and PowerLong Museum in Shanghai, she enjoys capturing the uncanny beauty within daily life. Her work involves expressing delicate emotions and interweaving multiple mediums, including text, photography, and video.
