Welcome to Bérénice and her rebellion!

Adapted from Jean Racine’s 17th century French tragedy Bérénice, Husshh company introduces a feminist interpretation of the classic play. Inspired by the movement style of German Tanztheater dance, the company have staged Bérénice’s journey, challenging the men surrounding her, to gain her own freedom. Through the mediums of physical performance and multilingualism this production plays with language in all its forms.

This project is supported by Thinking Culture funding 2024-25, awarded to MLitt student Sam Houston.
