How to submit a winning nomination
The Award recognises and celebrates the achievements of alumni who have made a meaningful contribution to their field.
Nominees must be a graduate of the University of Glasgow from the last 15 years, this means that they have graduated between 2008 and 2023.
The nomination form invites you to consider how your nominee's work aligns with any relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
Tell us how the impact of your nominees work has contributed to the SDGs and are helping to tackle the most pressing global challenges facing humanity and the natural world.
Nomination top-tips:
1. Tell a good story |
Outline your nominee's achievements using a compelling story that brings their work to life. |
2. Showcase your nominee's contribution |
Explain the role your nominee has played and what they achieved. |
3. Use examples |
Include meaningful facts and figures that show the effect your nominee has had in their field, this gives your nomination authenticity and impact. |
4. Include quotes |
Gather quotes from colleagues, managers, tutors or beneficiaries of their work to illustrate why your nominee is a star. |
5. Keep it simple |
Set out your case logically, write in clear and concise language and make sure you explain any industry phrases or jargon so the Committee understands your nominee's achievements. |

UN Sustainable Development Goals
The SDGs were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 and are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. There are 17 UN SDGs, they are interlinked and recognise that action in one will affect outcomes in others.
