Professor Richard Susskind appointed Commonwealth’s Special Envoy for Justice and Artificial Intelligence

University of Glasgow alumnus Richard Susskind to support UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 by assisting Commonwealth countries in achieving equal access to justice through the use of AI.
Professor Richard Susskind (LLB 1982) has been appointed as the Commonwealth’s Special Envoy for Justice and Artificial Intelligence and will be working towards the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) set to achieve peace, justice and strong institutions.
SDG Goal 16 is aimed at achieving peace, inclusivity, justice for all and accountable institutions by 2030. As Special Envoy for Justice and Artificial Intelligence, Richard will support the Commonwealth of Nations attain this goal through the use of AI.
Richard has been working in the field of law and AI since graduating in the 1980s and has completed groundbreaking work in the field since then. Today, Richard ranks among the most frequently cited authors on the future of legal services.
