Knowledge Exchange: from research to impact
The Knowledge Exchange (KE) Concordat defines KE as 'a collaborative, creative endeavour that translates knowledge and research into impact in society and the economy'. Knowledge exchange can be accomplished through a multitude of activities but should always be a two-way process of engagement, helping to generate societal and economic benefits from our researchers, their expertise and their findings.
In line with the University's Research Strategy 2020-2025, our aim is to engender a culture in which engagement, collaboration and co-creation are embedded within a supportive and inspiring research culture and environment.
Staff across the Research Services & Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Engagement directorates work with Colleges to support impactful research, and manage strategic knowledge exchange projects and funding initiatives, including UKRI Impact Acceleration Accounts and the University's own Glasgow Knowledge Exchange Fund.
Impacts grow out of and are uniquely shaped by your research and your engagement with communities of research users, from specialist groups to companies or the public. Specialised support is available in all aspects of knowledge exchange, engagement and impact planning and in innovation and enterprise activity, and we work with College-based colleagues to provide comprehensive support relevant to your research background and your project idea.
