Ray Ogden to receive the Timoshenko medal
Many congratulations to Professor Ray Ogden who is to receive the Timoshenko Medal.
The Timoshenko Medal was established in 1957 and is conferred in recognition of distinguished contributions to the field of applied mechanics. Instituted by the Applied Mechanics Division, it honors Stephen P. Timoshenko, world-renowned authority in the field, and it commemorates his contributions as author and teacher.
Ray receives the Timoshenko Medal for the creation of a new area of applied mechanics research. He has stimulated the work of a large number of practitioners in the field of the modeling in biomechanics. His innovations in the modeling of soft biological tissues are of long lasting medical, epidemiological, economic and scientific importance.
Very well done, Ray.
