Abstract
Christl Donnelly is a Professor of Statistical Epidemiology at Imperial College, Professor of Applied Statistics at the University of Oxford, and Associate director of the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis.
Over the last 25 years, Prof. Donnelly has been involved in many intensive efforts to understand and control infectious disease threats, including those relating to BSE/vCJD, foot and mouth disease, SARS, pandemic H1N1 influenza, MERS, Ebola (in West Africa and DRC), Zika and now COVID-19. The talk will reflect on what we have learned about controlling public and animal health threats, with particular emphasis on the current COVID-19 pandemic.
