The Kelvin Centre for Conservation and Cultural Heritage Research brings together areas of expertise in the fields of conservation, technical art history, dress and textile history and conservation science. Our MPhil and MLitt training programmes in Textile Conservation, Technical Art History, Dress & Textile History, and Book & Paper Conservation are underpinned by object-based interdisciplinary practice and research.

We collaborate with our colleagues in The Hunterian, Archives & Special Collections as well as in Art History, Archaeology, History, English, Physics and Engineering. We work with a wide range of national and international cultural institutions including Glasgow Museums, National Galleries of Scotland, British Museum, National Trusts, El Prado, Smithsonian, Yale University and the Getty.
